University of Houston-Clear Lake's Management Department offers Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), and Certificate options to students wishing to pursue careers in environmental management, human resource management, general management, and legal studies. The department objective is to prepare students for management positions in a variety of public and private sectors.

UHCL's College of Business is accredited by AACSB International-The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. Less than ten percent of all business schools hold this accreditation. Our specialization in Human Resource Management has been recently certified under the national organization, the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).

Environmental Management

Flexible professional development. We infuse our program curriculum with input from industry, government, consulting and nonprofit organizations, ensuring that you receive the most comprehensive environmental knowledge and topical insight you need to excel in your career. Since its inception in 1974, our Environmental Management program has become one of the most respected in the nation, with hundreds of our alumni holding leadership positions in government, industry, consulting firms and non-profit organizations.

Where can a environmental management degree take you? Environmental Management is a profession that is always in demand. The Houston-Galveston area is an ideal location to study environmental management and its large population, diverse industry base and multiple ports provide prime career opportunities for qualified graduates. Our degree programs are designed to provide the knowledge necessary for positions in areas such as hazardous waste management, permitting, risk management, environmental impact assessment, and water resource management.

Human Resource Management

Solutions for maximizing performance. UH-Clear Lake has one of the nation's first competency-based human resource management programs and the only accredited online graduate program of its kind in the region. UHCL is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management, a distinction held by less than 150 programs nationwide.

Where can a human resource management degree take you? You will have the knowledge necessary for positions such as compensation and benefits specialist, human resource manager, labor relations manager, organizational effectiveness specialist, recruiter, and development director. Houston is home to many petrochemical and aerospace company headquarters, and two large healthcare centers, Texas Medical Center (TMC) and University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), giving you access to a wide variety of professional opportunities.

Our management program emphasizes skills in project management, planning and scheduling, quality control, and planning and managing operations designed to produce either goods or services.
