Office of E-Learning Services

The Origin and Mission

Established in Fall 2008, the Office of E-Learning Services has the purpose to coordinate and facilitate the growth and expansion of online programs at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. The Office of Online Programs acts as the liaison between the Office of Provost, UCT, Schools and faculty to determine the programs that are offered online. Our role is to organize, and support the development of our new online and web-supported courses, and online programs to benefit the entire UHCL community.

Our office objectives include:

  • Develop and recommend plans and assessment activities for online course development.

  • Develop and implement training for faculty teaching online courses.

  • Advise and train faculty on approaches to enhance the quality of online courses.

  • Ensure compliance of online programs with accreditation standards mandated by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).

  • Implement and maintain accessibility standards in all online courses in compliance with state and federal laws.
