About Us

Students outside ArborThe College of Human Sciences and Humanities at the University of Houston-Clear Lake is all about people. Our faculty and students are dedicated to the study and understanding of people, and to using that understanding to improve lives. We are proud to be part of an innovative, community-minded, partnership-oriented university that gives serious students - students like you - a solid, liberal arts education that promotes intellectual and personal growth that will prepare you for life-long learning and employment. The College of Human Sciences and Humanities houses 16 undergraduate and 9 graduate programs. Our programs in Humanities and Fine Arts expose students to the greatest, most transforming concepts and the powerful works of human imagination. Our programs in Human Sciences educate students in the body of knowledge from the systematic study of humans and prepare them to increase their comprehension through research and clinical experiences. Many of our graduate programs emphasize skill development and clinical experiences that lead to licensure and certification for professional practice. We are particularly proud of the close partnerships and hands-on experiences that set us apart from other institutions. Our small class sizes allow one-on-one mentoring from world-class faculty, including several Fulbright scholars. We offer opportunities for internships through more than 300 partners. Our programs, many of which are nationally accredited, are committed to serving the community through facilities such as the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities. We invite you to experience UH-Clear Lake for yourself. Call the Office of Admissions to schedule an appointment to tour our beautiful campus and meet our exceptional faculty; we think you will agree that UHCL is the right environment to pursue your educational and career goals.
