Principal Certification with PDAS Certification
27 Hour Program

Teachers who want Principal and PDAS certifications ONLY and currently hold a master's degree must complete 27 hours of study in educational management.

In addition, students in the program must:
1. Hold a valid Texas teaching certificate.
2. Verify two years of teaching experience in an approved, accredited school.
3. Must pass the Principal Certification ExCET.
4. Must apply for the certificate, and pay the appropriate fee, in the Certification Office.

 

Required Course Work for the Master's Degree with Principal Certification and PDAS Certification:

Administration Core (27 hours):
ADSU 6030 Introduction to Educational Leadership
ADSU 6132 Curriculum
ADSU 6233 Principalship
ADSU 6235 Administration of Special Programs
ADSU 6436 School Business Management
ADSU 6437 School Law
ADSU 6533 Appraisal of Teaching
ADSU 6538 Program, Policy & Politics

Capstone Experience:
ADSU 6739 Graduate Internship

A one-hour course, ADSU 5010 Professional Examination Preparation, may be required to prepare
for the state assessment examination.
