Kids’ U Registration
Register now for summer classes beginning in June, Arbor Building

Kids’ U will offer a variety of summer learning courses to local elementary through high school students. Courses will be held throughout the summer with sessions usually running for one week beginning in June. Registration for summer 2008 courses can be made during regular Center for Educational Program hours, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Enrollment will continue until classes are filled. UHCL Arts Faculty Exhibition

UH-Clear Lake Undergraduate Student Art Exhibit

View new creative works by emerging artists during this UH-Clear Lake exhibition. All of the drawings, paintings, sculptures and ceramics in the show were created by UH-Clear Lake undergraduate students. Kids U Science Camp

Young writers can expand their writing skills with the courses offered through UH-Clear Lake’s Kids U Young Writers Camp. Courses are available for students in kindergarten through 12th-grade. Kids U Language Camp

Third through fifth grade students can build Spanish language skills during this Kids U camp. Two first-level courses will cover the basics of Spanish, with one second-level course covering some more advanced Spanish. Student will use role-playing, games and activities to learn simple sentences and common vocabulary. Enrollment will continue until classes are filled. Session fees are $129. Indian Student Association annual Cricket Tournament
Beginning July 11, usually Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 8 p.m.,

During the monthlong event, UH-Clear Lake Indian Student Association host local cricket teams in match after match of cricket action, leading to the final tournament battle for the Cricket Tournament Champion title. GT Seminar for Educators

Educators of gifted students are invited to attend this seminar held by the UH-Clear Lake Center for Educational Programs. The session, called “Nature and Needs of the Gifted,” introduces participants to the characteristics of gifted children and the cultural influences of race and poverty on gifted children. Seminar for Educators of Gifted Students

“Social/Emotional Needs of the Gifted” is the topic of this workshop for educators of gifted K-12 students. Seminar leaders will discuss the unique characteristics of gifted children and offer strategies on how to deal with these special needs.
