Apply

Submit your application for Spring 2015 through ApplyTexas.org. Our priority and final deadlines are listed by semester.

Official transcripts are required to complete your application file. They can be sent electronically from your school. Transcripts can also be hand delivered to the Office of Admissions in a sealed envelope. You may also mail transcripts to:

Official SAT or ACT scores should be se nt to the Office of Admissions directly from the testing agency. We will also accept test scoresthat are included on an official high school transcript.

UHCL’s SAT code is 6916. UHCL’s ACT code is 4171.

Your 11th grade TAKS or STARR test scores are required, please request that these be sent to UHCL along with your high school transcript. Also, any college course work that you have already completed should be sent along with your application for admission to assist in determining college readiness standards and enrollment course selection.

A non-refundable application fee of $45 is required. You can pay online through ApplyTexas.org or through E-Services using your institution issued student ID.

NOTE:
Freshman Applicants who ranked in the 3rd or 4th quartile of their high school class, who were home schooled or received a GED may be required to submit the following information in addition to their application and SAT or ACT scores:

  1. Essay or Personal Statement regarding your education and career goals
  2. Two letters of recommendation which address your academic ability and readiness for college level work. These letters must be from your high school counselor or teacher. If you are a GED or home-schooled applicant, you must present letters from individuals who can attest to your academic abilities and college readiness.
  3. College course work already completed at an accredited institution of higher education.
