Application Checklist

Submit your application for Fall 2014 through The application for fall 2014 will be available on August 1, 2013.

Official transcripts are required to complete your application file. They can be sent electronically from your school. Transcripts can also be hand delivered to the Office of Admissions in a sealed envelope. You may also mail transcripts to:

Official SAT or ACT scores should be sent to the Office of Admissions directly from the testing agency. We will also accept test scores from an official high school transcript.

UHCL’s SAT code is 6916. UHCL’s ACT code is 4171.

A non-refundable application fee of $45 is required. You can pay online through or through E-Services using your institution issued student ID.

Freshman Applicants who ranked in the 3rd or 4th quartile of their high school class, who were home schooled or received a GED are required to submit the following information in addition to their application and SAT or ACT scores:

  1. Essay or Personal Statement regarding your education and career goals
  2. Two letters of recommendation which address your academic ability and readiness for college level work. These letters must be from your high school counselor or teacher. If you are a GED or home-schooled applicant, you must present letters from individuals who can attest to your academic abilities and college readiness.
