Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE)
Saturday, April 10, 2010
The Texas Art Education Association’s VASE is the largest high school art competition in Texas. The artwork of approximately 1,700 Texas high school students will be displayed in the UHCL’s Bayou Building. The event includes art workshops in drawing, painting, pottery, jewelry making, metal forging, photography and a variety of mixed media techniques. Scholarship competitions, guest artist demonstrations, student portfolio reviews, a college expo and college preparedness workshops are also part of the students’ experience.

Enjoy a casual reception with live entertainment and hors d'oeuvres to catch up with old friends, make new connections and kick off the year-long “50 Grand” celebration to commemorate UHCL’s 50,000 alumni.
