Preston Johnson, Jr., Senior Vice President, Human Resources, joined McDermott International Inc. in May 2008.  Mr. Johnson has more than 25 years of leadership experience in financial, business, employee development and human resource management. 

Prior to joining McDermott, he was Vice President, Human Resources for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Shared Services for CenterPoint Energy.  From 1977-2000, he held roles of increasing responsibility at Dow Chemical, ultimately serving as Global Director, Human Resources.

He is a member of the American Management Association, Society of Human Resource Professionals and the Houston HR Executive Roundtable.  Additionally, he serves on the President’s Advisory Circle and the Business Advisory Board for Sam Houston State University and the Texas Business and Education Coalition Board of Directors. Mr. Johnson also has authored several chapter publications on human resources and leadership in the workplace.

Mr. Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1977 from Sam Houston State University and a master of business administration degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 1983.  He was named a distinguished alumnus of Sam Houston State in the fall of 2003, and in 2008 he was honored by the University of Houston-Clear Lake Alumni Association as a distinguished alumnus.
