Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
(FERPA)

University of Houston–Clear Lake has a policy in conformity with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) covering the release of student records. At its discretion, UHCL may provide "directory information" to the general public without student consent. Directory information is defined by University of Houston -Clear Lake as follows:

• name
• address
• telephone number
• e-mail address
• dates of attendance
• most recent previous education institution attended
• major field of study
• degrees/awards received
• participation in officially recognized activities
• date and place of birth
• classification
• hours enrolled
• date of graduation
