| Salary adjustments may be made for the following: |
|
new position, pay plan adjustments, merit pay, reclassification, equity adjustment and promotion. |

| New faculty and staff positions that are funded from either state funds or designated tuition will receive base funding; however, current funding will not be received until positions are filled. Current year funds will lapse to the component head for distribution as needed during the year. The amount of current funding received will be dependent on the person hired. |

For example, a new position is approved through the priorities for an Assistant Professor, effective 9/1. The position is not filled with an Assistant Professor until January but an Adjunct Professor is hired until such time. Current funds will be received 9/1 to cover the salary of the Adjunct Professor and 1/1 to cover the Assistant Professor. |
