If you have encumbrances or pre-encumbrances that need to be released, use the Accounts Payable Encumbrance Release Form or the Purchasing Pre-encumbrance/Encumbrance Release form.  These forms along with the instructions for using them can be found on the Forms page.

 

Open Commitments are comprised of:

 

            Budget checked encumbrance journals 

            Budget checked PO’s

 

 

Soft Commitments are comprised of:

 

            Budget checked but not posted vouchers

            Budget checked but not posted regular journals

            Budget checked requisitions
