School of Business Finance programs provide students with detailed knowledge for positions in the domestic and international finance industry. Our curriculum is driven by current practice and delivered by well qualified faculty. Program requirements address AACSB guidelines and assure coverage of essential content while remaining flexible to meet student needs.
Entering graduate students pursuing the M.S. in Finance program now can complete the course work entirely online, face-to-face, or in combination. Online courses have been developed by experienced faculty with the aid of instructional and web design professionals. Online instructors are the same faculty members who teach the face-to-face courses and are accessible to students both virtually and in person.

Chartered Financial Analyst Program…
CFA Institute is the global, not-for-profit association of investment professionals that awards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) designations. The CFA Program is the global standard for measuring portfolio management and investment analysis competence and integrity while the CIPM Program is an education and credentialing program for investment professionals working in performance evaluation and presentation. The programs are intended to supplement the formal education and work experience of a wide variety of investment specialists – from private bankers and investment advisors to portfolio strategists and hedge fund managers. Two Finance faculty, Dr. Joseph P. McCormack and Dr. Melissa Williams hold the CFA designation. Coursework in the UHCL M.S. in Finance program provides a foundation to begin preparation for the CFA examination process.

Select coursework, including Finance 4631, allows students to begin the process to sit for the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) examination as part of the Association of Financial Professional’s (AFP) Certified Treasury Professional Program.
