Timeline for Applicants
Selection of CSLT II Cohorts 1 & 2
Fall 2008-August 2011

• September 24, 2008 -Recruitment and application materials distributed electronically to grant partner districts and to individuals from other districts who wish to be considered on a ‘space available’ basis for Cohort 1 to start in Spring 2009.
• November 3, 2008-Deadline for submitting CSLT II Cohort 1 application materials for and all other required documentation (by mail to Dr. White or hand deliver to Barbara Kelley, suite secretary, by 5:30 pm-Suite 1321, Bayou Building).
• November 10 or 11, 2008-Essay Activity for Cohort I conducted at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, 5:00-to end no later than 6:30 pm, Room 1313on Monday and Room 1228 on Tuesday, in the Bayou Building. Notify Barbara Kelley, Suite Secretary by e-mail kelleyb@uhcl.edu indicating which date you will write.
• November 24, 2008 –E-mail notification will be sent to all participants, both to those who are selected as a finalist for the oral interview and all others who submitted applications and wrote for the Essay Activity.
• December 1 or 2, 2008 – Oral interviews for Cohort 1 by appointment. Only finalists will be interviewed. Conference Room B1125.
• By December 5, 2008 -Notification of CSLT II participants selected for Cohort 1.
• Week of December 8, time and place TBA: Cohort 1 group meeting on grant activities, enrollment, and advisement information.
• Prior to December 17: Cohort 1 will be enrolled in courses for Spring 2009.
• Week of February 2, 2009 – Information for Cohort 2 applications (to begin coursework in Fall 2009) will be posted on the CSLT II website and sent to the Advisory Committee members. Those from non-partner districts who wish to be considered may also submit applications – see CLST II website.
• TBA: Cohort 1 meets for advisement for Summer 2009 courses.
• May 15, 2009 – Deadline for submitting CSLT II application materials for Cohort 2 by mail to Dr. White or hand delivered to Barbara Kelley by 12:00 pm (noon)– Suite 1321, Bayou Building.
• June 1 & 2, 2009 – CSLT II Essay Activity for Cohort 2 conducted at UHCL in Room TBA of the Bayou Building. There will be a short orientation meeting beginning at 5:00 pm, followed by time to write the essay, end no later than 6:30 p.m.
• June 10, 2009 – Selection and notification of candidates for oral interviews; notification of all applicants who submitted application and wrote the essay
• June 16 & 17, 2009 – Oral interviews on Tuesday and Wednesday for Cohort 2 at 5:00 p.m., place TBA, by appointment; previous notification to be given. Approximately 10-15 minutes for each interview.
• June 19, 2009 – Cohort 2 selected candidates will be notified.
• TBA, Week of June 22: Cohort 1 and 2 candidates will meet for advising and information purposes.
• TBA after Summer calendar is published: Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 will be enrolled for Fall 2009 courses.
• Fall 2010- All CSLT II students in Cohort 1, first enrolled in the Spring 2009 semester, are expected to complete their degree in the Master of Science in SLIS with a School Librarian Standard Certification or the coursework for the Standard School Librarian Certification for those who hold a Master’s degree in December, 2010.
• August 2011-All CSLT II students in Cohort 2, first enrolled in the Fall 2009 semester, are expected to complete their degree in the Master of Science in SLIS a School Librarian Standard Certification or the coursework for the Standard School Librarian Certification for those who hold a Master’s degree in and Standard School Librarian Certification in August, 2011.
