We are an alternative certification program that began in March 2003. Since then we have provided opportunities for prospective teachers to enter the teaching profession and earn their standard certificates. ACT Houston is a face-to-face, accelerated, research-based, fast-track program with open enrollment that provides personalized service and ongoing support to those whose goal is to become a certified teacher. The ACT Houston program offers open enrollment and conducts four preparation program institutes each year. We work with over 75 public school districts, charter schools, and accredited private schools in the Greater Houston area.
