The CTELL Advisory Council

The CTELL Advisory Council consists of UHCL faculty involved in the implementation of the CTELL project and representatives from each of the CTELL partner districts.  The CTELL Advisory Council will meet at least once during fall and spring semesters during the period of grant implementation to provide an on-going opportunity for collaboration among members of the partnership.

During the spring of 2008, CTELL representatives from each partner district scheduled a brief orientation for district and campus administrators so the UHCL CTELL staff could provide an overview of grant opportunities.  Having this information facilitated administrators' involvement in recruiting secondary teachers to participate in CTELL training.

Recommendations to partner districts regarding CTELL Advisory Council:

  • Each district will designate at least two staff members to serve on the CTELL Advisory Council. It is recommended that one district representative be involved in the implementation of the district’s secondary ESL program and that the other person be a campus/district administrator involved in campus improvement planning or implementation of staff development programs.
  • Each partner district may send more than two representatives to each CTELL Advisory Council Meeting.  In the absence of regular CTELL representatives, the districts should send another person to CTELL Advisory Council Meetings to facilitate on-going communication.
