The University of Houston Coastal Center is located in central Galveston County approximately 14 miles northwest of the Gulf of Mexico. Entrance to the Center is at 5721 FM 2004, La Marque, Texas. The Center, approximately 1,000 acres in size, is the site for environmental field and laboratory studies which cannot be performed efficiently on campus and for those procedures which require security, acreage, or time that make them inappropriate for the campus.
