The scholarships listed below are open to most UHCL degree plans.
All applicants are evaluated for each of the General Scholarships.

UHCL Veterans Scholarship
Major: Any UHCL degree program
GPA: 2.5 minimum
Status: Full-time or part time undergraduate
Financial Need: Will be a factor
Specifics: Must be active or reserve duty military personnel or an honorably discharged veteran.

UHCL Alumni
Major: Any UHCL degree program
GPA: 3.0
Status: Full-time or part-time; undergraduate or graduate
Financial Need: Will be a factor
Specifics:

1. Commitment to volunteer in at least one Alumni event each long semester for the duration of the scholarship award
2. During the last long semester of the award period, attend an Alumni board meeting and give or write a statement up to one page describing
   1. How you have benefited from community and/or university involvement
   2. The importance of receiving a degree from UHCL
   3. How you plan to contribute to UHCL after graduation

The Lunar Rendezvous Festival

1. Evidence of demonstrated service and/or contribution to their community
2. First consideration shall be given to students who have graduated from one of the high schools within the Clear Creek ISD

Additional Documentation: Additional consideration may be given to students who provide evidence of their participation in or volunteer service for the Lunar Rendezvous Festival, Inc. or who provide evidence that an immediate family member (grandparent, parent, sibling or child) has participated in or volunteered for the Lunar Rendezvous Festival, Inc.

The Distinguished Alumni Scholarship
Major: Any UHCL degree program
GPA: Minimum 2.5
Status: Undergraduates with 9 hours minimum per semester and graduates with 6 hours minimum per semester
Financial Need: Preferred as a factor
Special: Descendent (child or grandchild) of a UHCL alumnus/a
Additional Documentation: Name of person who graduated or attained a certification at UHCL of whom you are a descendent.

Phi Kappa Phi
Major: Any degree program at UHCL and an agreement to complete an application to join Phi Kappa Phi if selected to receive this scholarship
GPA: Top 10% of most recent graduating class
Status: College senior or graduate student
Financial Need: Will not be a factor
Specifics: Must have an approved CPS on file

3. Copy of transcripts (include all undergraduate and graduate work)
4. Statement consisting of clarification of educational and career goals and personal factors that have influenced your educational achievement

Christopher J. Gregory Leadership Memorial Scholarship

Additional Documentation:  Submit a 100-150 word statement discussing accomplishments with the following:

• How have you raised the hopes and aspirations of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, many of whom strive against great odds to make positive contributions?
• How have you built awareness of the issues affecting gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals through participation in educational programs and community/campus activities?
• How have you built a positive image of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons both among themselves and in the public as contributing citizens in our society?

Hall Family Endowment for Presidential Scholars
Major:  Within School of Business
GPA:  3.0 on a scale of 4.0

Specifics: Candidates are non-traditional exemplary students based on their academic achievement, leadership involvement or having overcoming personal challenges. All qualified candidates will be interviewed by a selection committee to determine if they meet the exemplary student criteria.
