Human Sciences and Humanities Scholarships

These scholarships are for HSH majors only.
HSH applicants are evaluated for the awards listed below and for General Scholarship.

  The application process for these scholarships is available every year during the month of February.  Awards are made for the following academic year.  Application information can be found at:  http://prtl.uhcl.edu/portal/page/portal/FAO/Scholarships/Application_and_Timeline

Awarding for each scholarship is contingent on availablility of funding.

James and Norma Hightower

The Art Education Scholarship
Major: Applied Design and Visual Arts

Specifics:  students preparing to teach art at the elementary or secondary school level OR art teachers returning for graduate study in Humanities with an emphasis on studio art, art history and/or art education.
Additional Documentation Required: Write a brief statement on your experience teaching art OR your intent to teach art.


Chhavi Bhatia Memorial
Major: Clinical Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy
