These scholarships are for SCE majors only.
SCE applicants are evaluated for the awards listed below and for General Scholarships.

The application process for these scholarships is available each year during the month of February. 

Awards are made for the following academic year.

Charles McKay Software Engineering
Major: Software Engineering

Texas Scholars in Computer Science
Major: Declared major as Computer Science
GPA: 3.0
Status: Full time undergraduate
Financial Need: Will be a factor
Specifics: Must have transferred to UHCL from one of the Houston/Galveston Area Community Colleges and plan to complete BS in computer science at UHCL.
Additional Documentation: Copies of transcripts from the community college


Michael J. Mezzino Excellence in Mathematics
Major: Mathematics
GPA: Must have and maintain 3.5 on 4.0 scale
Status: Undergraduate with 9 hours; graduate with 6 hours
Financial Need: Will not be a factor
Specifics: Previous recipients have preference as long as requirements are met for a maximum of 5 semesters

Frank Perez Scholarship
Major: Any major
GPA: Undergraduate 2.5 on 4.0 scale and graduate 3.0 on 4.0 scale
Status: Full-time student (undergraduate 12 hours, graduate 9 hours)
Financial Need: Will be a factor if multiple applicants have equal standing
Specifics: Student must be in good standing and reside within Galveston County, TX

Lunney Family Scholarship
Major: Any degree plan in the School of Science and Computer Engineering focusing on the aerospace community
GPA: Merit will be considered
Status: full time, part time, undergraduate or graduate
Financial Need:  Will not be a factor
Specifics:  Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Additional Documentation Required:  A one page essay describing why you are pursuing a field relating to aerospace
