The University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Pay Plans are designed to assist the university’s faculty and staff with administration of its human resource policies and procedures related to compensation and employment actions.
UHCL strives to attract, employ and retain a well-qualified work force through fair and consistently applied compensation and employment procedures. The university’s staff compensation policy, approved March 10, 1994, and associated procedures are incorporated within the pay plans.
The Office of Human Resources is responsible for the continued development and review of the university’s staff pay plans in accordance with the staff compensation policy. The university is committed to reviewing the pay plans and pay tables every two years to ensure that the pay plans are within market range for similarly situated classifications. As funds permit, the university will commit to making adjustments that result from this review.

Pay Plans: Includes job title, pay grade, FLSA, EEO and job codes. Position Descriptions: Describes generic qualifications, duties and responsibilities.
