Since it’s inception in December of 1997, the Office of Training and Development has worked to support and enhance the overall professional growth and development needs for UHCL faculty and staff. This is accomplished through the offering of targeted training courses such as Stepping Up to Supvisor and Leaders In Action, as well as other targeted or "Just in Time" training programs.

More detailed descriptions of courses and trianing programs offered are provided within the approrate tab on this page.

Mandatory Training:

There are two types of mandatory training that employees for UHCL must complete in accordance with state of Texas, and University of Houston System Board of Regents mandates.  The courses are to be completed by all new or returning university employees (including faculty, staff, student workers, and temporary employees paid through the payroll system).

Annual Mandatory Training:

Taking place once each year, all Univesity of Houston System employees complete required online training courses.  The next phase of annual mandatory training will occur in the fall semsester of 2012 for FY13.  Details on the FY13 Annual Mandatory training period are posted on the Required Training tab listed above.

New Hire Mandatory Training:

All new employees must complete New Hire Mandatory training courses as required by state of Texas, and University of Houston System Board of Regents mandates within 30 days of being notified of enrollment.   Notifications occur on a weekly basis in the form of an e-mail message being sent to new employees.  Listed below are the courses and the required passing scores for each course.
