School Psychology - Faculty


The full-time faculty of the UHCL School Psychology program are committed teachers, active scholars, and licensed psychologist with diverse interests and areas of expertise. Over twenty full time psychology faculty teach courses and are involved in research with School Psychology students. In addition, licensed psychologists who have special expertise in school psychology and are practicing in the schools are occasionally selected to teach particular courses as adjuncts. Three full-time faculty are assigned to direct the School Psychology program and its internships.

Full-time Faculty

Adjunct Faculty:

Two school psychology adjunct professors regularly participate in the training program. All are licensed psychologists and licensed specialists in School Psychology.

  • Dr. Loretta Allen received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Texas A&M and is currently the Director of Psychological Services for Deer Park ISD. Dr. Allen teaches Ethics and Law in School Psychology, Student Diversity in Learning, and Consultation in School Psychology. Dr. Allen is a past-president of TASP, is a member of the Texas Collaborative for Emotional Development in Schools, and is a field-based supervisor for interns.

  • Dr. Carol Booth received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and is currently the Director of Special Education for Galena Park ISD. Dr. Booth teaches Intervention II and IV which focus on social and behavioral skills, group counseling,and program evaluation & design for special populations. Dr. Booth is a past-president of TASP, an oral examiner for the TSBEP, and currently the NASP representative for the state of Texas.
