DIGITAL MEDIA STUDIES FACULTY

The primary strength of the Digital Media Studies program is its ability to integrate the academic expertise and professional experience of faculty in all four of the university’s schools. Faculty in the School of Human Sciences and Humanities’ Communication and Visual Arts programs administer the DMS degree and teach its core courses. Their areas of expertise include media theory, digital media law and ethics, integrated marketing communication, graphic design, Web design, animation and digital photography and video.

Faculty in the School of Business teach graduate courses in Marketing and Management that benefit DMS students pursuing corporate and electronic commerce opportunities, while their courses in Information Systems Administration and Management provide programming instruction to DMS students likely to manage information networks. DMS students who anticipate a professional role training others may take digital media courses, such as Multimedia and Web Development and Digital Video, from Instructional Technology faculty in the School of Education. DMS students interested in designing interactive multimedia products may take the Gaming course offered in the School of Science and Computer Engineering.
