Digital Media Studies Admissions Requirements
Students seeking admission to the Digital Media Studies master’s program must have completed a bachelor of arts or science degree and submitted all required documentation for admission to UHCL, including an application for admission and official transcripts.
Students must have a 3.0 cumulative average in their last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework to be admitted without taking the Graduate Record Exam. Alternatively, students must take the GRE and score within the acceptable range for admission, based on the following formula: (GPA x 500) + GRE Verbal + GRE Quantitative = 2050 or higher.
Students may transfer in from another graduate program with as many as 12 hours, if they are acceptable for the degree. Students must take their last 24 hours through UHCL.
Students without adequate undergraduate experience in computer software or graphics, as determined by the DMST faculty, may be required to take preparatory courses at the undergraduate level before entering the program. A Computer Imaging course (such as COMM 4439) or its equivalent is considered the minimal level of preparation required. Students with no Web experience also may be required to take COMM 4434.
