Graduate

The graduate plan in Fitness and Human Performance leads to the Master of Arts (MA) degree. It will prepare you for careers as coaches, strength and conditioning professionals and exercise fitness specialists.

As applicants to our undergraduate program, you should have basic course work in health and fitness, including course work in the physiology of exercise and biomechanics. If these requirements have not been met, you must take these courses before your degree can be awarded. These hours will not count toward the 36 hours required for the master’s degree.

Certificate in FHP (Graduate)

The FHP certificate is designed for individuals with a bachelor’s degree who are not seeking a master’s degree in Fitness and Human Performance but do want to receive specific instruction in fitness, exercise, nutrition and human performance.

You will receive a certificate from the School of Human Sciences and Humanities when you complete the 12-hour curriculum.

If you decide to pursue a master’s degree, you can apply these hours to your graduate plan.

Whether degree seeking or non-degree seeking, you are subject to the university’s academic standards and university policies.
