American Psychological Association Journals (A.P.A.)

Some journals/articles appear to be free while others are not; however, all are peer reviewed.  The A.P.A. homepage may be helpful as well.

Features papers about body image, gender, sexuality, chicano/chicana focused information, links to sites concerning issues at and around borders between countries, etc.  Beware of a few dead links.

Communalism Combat
Monthly online magazine that covers human rights and other issues from South Asia.  Extensive archive of previous issues feature articles, book reviews, editorials, investigative reporting, etc.  A visit to the homepage may be useful as well.

dissent Magazine
Magazine concerning United States politics and culture from a primarily liberal perspective.  Also offers coverage of European politics.  Features many articles, book reviews, and editorials from current issues; however, user can access the magazine?s archives for past issues.  Can search by keyword or author.

Journal of Gender Specific Medicine
Journal from Columbia University featuring peer-reviewed articles concerning all areas of health.  Most articles (if not all) are written by physicians and are extremely thorough.  Can search site by using keywords.

Inscriptions (Journal)
Online Journal for the Center for Cultural Studies at the University of California in Santa Cruz. Discusses issues concerning feminism, colonial discourse, orientalism, culture differences, women of color, etc.

Journal of international women's Studies
Journal from Bridgewater State College offers peer-reviewed articles, essays, poetry, abstracts, book and film reviews, and interviews.  Covers feminist issues from around the world; articles require Adobe Acrobat which the site conveniently links to for a free download.  

Manushi:  A Journal About Women in Society (India)
Journal containing academic articles discussing political, social, and economic issues through women?s experiences, ?civil liberties and human rights issues, interviews, historical pieces, film and book reviews, fiction, poetry, and responses from readers.?  User has the option of browsing current and past issues.

Psychiatric Times
Does not deal with women specifically but has much information dealing with all aspects of mental health.  Can browse through past issues as well as search by topic, author, etc.

Wagadu:  A Jounal of Transitional Women's and Gender Studies
First issue of this journal is forthcoming and is expected in 2004.  Journal promises to discuss historical and contemporary issues of imperialism, globalization, and/or militarization, as well as biographies of women who have faced struggles against empire, sexism/heterosexism, and racism.  Editors invite authors to submit papers that discuss various issues centering around the journal?s agenda.

Women's E-News
In-depth National and International news articles concerning current women?s issues such as health and environment, politics and policy, and gender issues.  Can easily search by topic for past news articles and political cartoons.  Similar to an online newspaper and many articles have helpful links relating to the articles? topic.
