Bachelor's Degree in Humanities
The B.A. in Humanities is excellent preparation for any profession that requires writing, thinking, and creativity. Some of our students elect the pre-law track and enter law school upon graduation. Other graduates begin careers in government, sales or management, not-for-profit agencies, fine arts organizations, or creative or professional writing.
The Bachelor of Arts in Humanities is a liberal arts degree that will help you
- unlock your creativity,
- develop your capacity for reflection and judgment,
- improve your writing skills,
- acquire self-knowledge and cross-cultural understanding, and
- increase your potential for leadership.
You may choose to pursue a
B.A. Humanities or a B.A. Humanities Pre-Law
To gain admission to the HSH Humanities program, you should first complete the 60-credit hours of freshman and sophomore level courses Click here to view the 2+2 Plan.
Once you have comleted these lower level courses, you are ready to transfer into the Humanities program at UHCL. Complete the online application process.
After you have been admitted, you will be assigned to a faculty advisor in the School of Human Science and Humanities who will help you develop your candidate plan of study.
Your advisor will help you select the remaining HSH General Education requirement courses. At the same time, your advisor will also introduce you to the myriad possibilities in the B.A. Humanities or its Pre-Law subplan.
