Due dates for applications for entry into the graduate non-clinical internship program are posted on the first page. Early applications are accepted.
You must attend the mandatory orientation sessions in the semester prior to beginning an internship.
Not all students are suited for doing internships and faculty have the professional obligation to screen prospective interns.
A completed application packet includes:
- Completed application for internship
- Copy of Candidate Plan of Study (CPS)
- Current resume or curriculum vitae
- Current transcript (may be unofficial)
- A letter of recommendation from one UHCL professor (form is on the right)
- An essay of your professional goals, 2 double spaced pages in length explaining your interest in an internship. Please see question below.
ESSAY QUESTION:
In two typed double spaced pages explain why you are interested in doing an internship.
- What personal qualities/experiences will you bring to the site?
- What are your strengths?
- What are your challenges?
- What are your short-term and long-term goals and objectives?
- How do you see this internship experience fitting into your larger educational and professional goals?
