Submit transcripts

You must provide the Office of Admissions with official transcripts, mark (grade) sheets and confirmation of degrees or diplomas for all academic studies attempted and completed at other colleges/universities, prior to enrollment. Official transcripts and/or mark sheets received in the original language must be accompanied by English translations (if applicable). Translations will only be accepted from the college/university, Consulate or from one of the accepted evaluation providers. This information must be received before the final evaluation can proceed. Transcripts should clearly indicate dates of attendance, subjects taken and marks (grades) earned. They should also reflect any degrees or diplomas awarded.

Official transcripts are to be sent directly to University of Houston-Clear Lake by the registrar, principal or responsible head of each institution attended. When this is not possible, documents certified by an embassy or consular official as "true copies" may be accepted. Uncertified copies will not be accepted.

Official GMAT, GRE or MAT scored must be submitted as required by the department of your major. Please see the catalog and/or Web site for the required scores. Scores must be sent directly from the testing agency. Test scores should not be more than five years old. Check our Web site or catalog for possible graduate test score exemptions.

Submit Test Scores

If you were educated in a country where English is not the native language, you must demonstrate English proficiency by taking the TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson Test of English (PTE) or by successfully completing the ELS Intensive English program prior to admission. Minimum score requirements are: 550 on the paper-based TOEFL examination; 79 on the iBT TOEFL; 6.0 on the IELTS, 53 on the PTE exam or successful completion of level 112 in the ELS Intensive English program. Scores cannot be more than two years old and only scores sent from the testing center will be considered. The New Students section of the website and catalog lists possible ways that you could qualify for a waiver.

Exception: If you are an undergraduate applying to the school of SOE, HSH or SCE and are pursuing both a degree and educator certification; or, if you are a post-baccalaureate or graduate applicant pursing any Educator certification, you are required to take the iBT TOEFL examination. To be eligible for admission, you must pass the speaking section of the iBT TOEFL exam with a score of 26 or higher.
