Do you have what it takes to be an IO Leader?

Mandatory Responsibilities:

  • Be available for International Orientation leader training day.
  • Attend New International Student Orientation all day.

Top five reasons to be an IO Leader:

  • Opportunity to share your experiences with new international students.
  • Establish relationships with faculty and staff members.
  • Have a positive impact on new international students.
  • Develop leadership and communication skills.
  • Great chance to make new friends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with morning check-in for new international students.
  • Accompany students to academic advising sessions.
  • Assist IISS staff with informational presentations during the day.
  • Direct students to lunch location.
  • Interact with new student during lunch and throughout the day.
  • Provide IISS with honest feedback about the orientation.
  • Give new students a campus tour.

Important Dates to Remember:

• IO Leader Training: Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm in the Student Organizations Room (next door to IISS Office)

•New International Student Orientation: Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Bayou Building

•Deadline to apply: Monday, August 5, 2013 at 6pm
