Welcome to Government Documents!
The Alfred R. Neumann Library has been an official Federal Depository Library for selected U.S. government publications since 1980 and a Texas Depository Library for Texas state publications since 1988.
As a depository library we welcome the general public as well as our UHCL community.
Our Documents Librarian, Gay E. Carter, selects government document materials to support both the university's research needs and the general information needs of the citizens of Texas. This guide is designed to direct researchers both to the Government Documents Collection located on the upper level of the Neumann Library and to the wealth of government information on the Web.
Most government documents may be checked out at the Circulation Desk for a three-week loan. Look for the location designation "US Documents" or "Texas Documents" in the library catalog. The Neumann Library honors all TexShare Cards, Friends of the Alfred R. Neumann Library cards, and UH campus ID cards. Internet access for government publications is provided by 35 public-access computers.
During regular semester hours, Reference help is available Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00, and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For complete information about library hours, click on "Library Hours" on the library homepage.
