Neumann Library charges fines for recalled and reserve materials that are overdue, as well as for overdue DVDs and Videos.


For items that have been recalled by the library, the fine is $1.00/day.


For reserve materials the fine is $0.50/hour for items on a 2-hour checkout. Items on a 1-, 3-, or 7-day checkout have a fine of $2.00/day for each day overdue. Fines stop accruing when an item is returned.

DVDs and Videos accrue fines at $1.00 for each day overdue.

Outstanding fines or unreturned library materials will result in a loss of borrowing privileges and a block on UHCL student or employee records.

Overdue or recall notices are sent to your campus email address (UHCL students, faculty, and staff) or to the email account in your library patron record (JSC, community borrowers). Materials must be returned or renewed on time whether or not notices are received. Notify us if your email or mailing address changes.

Fines accrued for Central or Downtown books may not be paid at the UHCL library.
