News from the Green Team

Do you have cell phones that no longer work and you don’t know what to do with them? The Neumann Library is now helping UHCL become more 'green' and is providing everyone the opportunity to recycle cell phones and rechargeable batteries.

Portions of the proceeds for cell phone recycling will go to select charities and is made possible by the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC). To find out more check out their website at www. call2recycle.org

The recycle box is located on a table across from the Reference Desk.
  • put your cell phone in the plastic bag which is provided
  • seal the bag
  • drop it in the recycle box
It does not matter if the battery is loose or if battery is still attached to the cell phone.

UHCL Green Team is officially called "UHCL’s Green Waste Reduction Team". It’s a university-wide group which was started this past July by  Sue Halamicek, UHCL’s Recycling Coordinator, and consists of faculty, staff and students.
