Library-Subscribed Electronic Journals
Search the title of a needed journal (for example, Journal of Research on Adolescence) in UHCL Electronic Journals List (also called Ejournals List) to check whether Neumann Library has the journal available electronically:
  • You also will find electronic versions of a journal identified on browse screens in the Library Catalog as an electronic resource, while a paper or microform subscription is called a serial. Click the journal name or View All Copies to reach the full record screen, which includes a link to view all full text options in the Ejournals List.
If a link from UHCL Electronic Journals List takes you directly to a publication screen for the needed journal, select the specific issue or date desired. If the link takes you to a general search screen, search either the name of the journal, distinctive author names or article title keywords, etc., to retrieve the desired material.
Free on the Internet
Some journals and magazines (those published by non-profit or government bodies in particular) are freely available on the World Wide Web as open access publications. Even if an online journal requires payment for full-text articles, it may provide selected articles, tables of contents, or abstracts at no charge. Many open access journals are listed in the UHCL Electronic Journals List. To look for more, see the Articles & More tabs on relevant Databases by Subject resource pages, or consult the following resources:

  • Directory of Open Access Journals (free, online scientific and scholarly journals)
  • E-journals.org
  • NewJour Electronic Journals and Newsletters
  • Biological, Medical, Physical, and Social Sciences Journals (Stanford University Libraries' HighWire Press)
