Purdue University Online Writing Lab Handouts
A set of over 200 writing guides, covering general writing concerns, research and documenting sources, punctuation, capitalization and spelling, sentence construction, parts of speech, English as a second language, exercises and answer keys, and professional and employment-related writing.
 
Writer's Handbook
Writing Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Offers advice on academic writing (including research papers, annotated bibliographies, literary papers, reviews, science and proposal writing), grammar and style, letters and application essays, documentation styles, and more.
 
Writer's Web
Writing Center, University of Richmond. Major topics include getting started, writing first drafts, focusing and connecting ideas, analysis and argument, editing a draft, peer editing strategies, punctuation, sentence structure and mechanics, editing for clarity and style, documentation, using sources effectively, and writing on-line.

Dartmouth College Composition Center's Student Resources
Discusses the nature of academic writing, and provides specific advice for different disciplines of the humanities, social sciences, and sciences, and for writing a thesis.
