In honor of these elders and your achievements, the COE program is offering scholarships ranging from $200 to $2000 to students whose essays about supportive elders best exemplify the intergenerational strengths of African American and Hispanic communities.

Awardees are notified by Friday, July 31, 2009 by email or phone.  At that time, a photographer will contact all students to be exhibited to set-up a photo opportunity. 

The Celebrating Our Elders Scholarship Project Award winners are announced during the Opening Ceremonies, Saturday, September 19, 2009 for the Hispanic ceremony and on Saturday, October 17, 2009 during the African-American ceremony at the University of Houston-Clear Lake campus.
