1. State and Federal Reporting – OIE submits state/federal mandated CBM reports, IPEDS, LBB & LAR, etc. This is a top priority of the Office.
2. Assessment – OIE monitors and reviews assessment activities of academic programs and support units. This is another top priority of the Office, which is critical to the success of university accreditation.
3. Planning – OIE works closely with the President and Provost to identify indicators to track the progress of university strategic goals.
4. Institutional Research Reporting – OIE provides the campus community with a variety of institutional data and analysis for information and decision making. Examples of publications include the Fact Book, Program Profile, Enrollment & SCH, Average Class Size, Course Completions, etc.
5. University Surveys – OIE conducts university-wide surveys (e.g., graduating students survey, academic and support services assessments) and departmental surveys (e.g., new student assessment, accounting alumni survey) in an effort to provide survey data to faculty and staff for continuous improvement.
6. Geographic Display of Students – OIE provides geographical displays of student enrollment and demographic information of UHCL surrounding areas to support enrollment effort of the University.
