The Jean Nettles PASA Scholarship fund was established to support professional staff employees in their pursuit of a degree or professional development through UHCL classes. The scholarship was named in honor of PASA’s founding President, Jean Nettles, who joined UHCL in 1976 and worked in the School of Education. PASA’s fundraising events, such as the Silent Auction and the monthly parking raffle, help support the scholarship fund.

Scholarships will be awarded starting Fall 2010. Application Details and deadline will be announced Summer 2010.

Criteria:

Benefits eligible UHCL employee for a minimum of one year (at the time of award (not at time of application).
- Attending UHCL in pursuit of degree completion or professional development; preference given to those seeking degree
- Full time or part time student
- Undergraduate or graduate
- Financial need is not a factor
- Preference given to active PASA member

Required Documentation:
1. Completed UHCL Scholarship Application Cover Sheet.
2. A brief statement (1-2 paragraphs) to include:
- your job title and department;
- objective for taking class;
- a list of your PASA participation within the past 2 years and/or ideas you have to increase your future PASA participation
