IV. Parking (excerpt from "Traffic and Parking Regulations" pamphlet)
3. Visitors – Parking Lot R is designated as the primary visitor parking lot. This lot requires payment of $5.00 or a University Token upon exit.
a. The Police Department sells the following departments University Parking Tokens at a reduced cost, which they have the discretion to distribute to their visitors.

b. All other visitors must pay $5.00 at the pay machine located at the exit gate of the R Lot.
c. Metered Spaces - Additional visitors parking is available through metered spaces in Bayou Circle, Houston Drive, Lot G and Lot J. Metered spaces cost $1.00 per hour with a three hour maximum. The meters only accept United States coins (Nickels, Dimes and Quarters) and smartcards (inquire about smartcards at the Police Department, Bayou 1636).
4. Reciprocal Agreements - Current parking permits issued by the Traffic and Parking Offices or Police Departments of the University of Houston, UH-Downtown, UH-Victoria and the UH-System are valid, if vehicles are parked in appropriate parking areas for the type of permit displayed. In addition, current parking permits issued by Wharton County Junior College to any University of Houston System student are valid, if the vehicles are parked in the appropriate student parking areas.
B. Parking a vehicle without a UHCL or reciprocal permit on University property is not allowed except in Lot R or within spaces regulated by parking meters.
C. Having a UHCL permit or reciprocal permit does not exempt a person from the required payment for metered parking or Visitor’s Lot Parking.
D. Event Parking - Conference or seminar chairpersons are to advise participants to park in Lot R or at the parking meters located throughout the campus. For groups of 20 or more vehicles, alternative parking options can be formulated on an individual basis through the University Police Department. Organizers should provide at least five business days notice of special parking needs.
