Towing
- The University of Houston-Clear Lake reserves the right to remove and impound any vehicle at the owner’s expense for these reasons:
- Parked in a reserved parking space.
- Abandoned vehicle.
- Vehicle parked so as to create a traffic or safety hazard.
- Wrecked or disabled car left on campus without approval from the University Police.
- Vehicles with no license plates.
- Vehicles parked on campus for the purpose of storage or habitation.
- Parked in a loading zone.
- Parked by a fire hydrant or in a fire zone.
- To safeguard personal property when the person charged with the care and control of the vehicle is placed under arrest.
- Within University Forest Apartments, upon request of University Forest Apartments management.
- As needed by the University Police to maintain orderly traffic flow on campus or limit the repercussions of a dangerous or emergency situation.
- Displaying an altered or forged parking permit or a permit which has been reported lost or stolen.
- Habitual violation of UH-Clear Lake Parking and Traffic Regulations.
- Failure to pay parking or traffic citations.
- The University will not be liable for damages or costs involved in the removal or impoundment of any vehicle on campus.
- The location of towed vehicles is maintained by the University Police Department. Owners/operators of towed vehicles will have to meet the fees and identification requirements of the tow storage yard, as well as pay all outstanding University reinstatement fees, before the vehicle will be released.
