Carnival promises fun for all
Games, good food and family fun are on tap for area families of children with developmental disabilities when University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Applied Behavior Analysis Student Organization hosts their first carnival. The area’s leading service providers will also offer information on services available.
“While this is our first carnival, we plan to make this an annual event for the community,” says Amanda Lewis, an executive board member for the organization. “We think it is a great way to connect families with the organizations that can provide support to them while having fun at the same time.”
The carnival will feature a variety of game booths that are designed to accommodate individuals of all skill levels, as well as performances by a local dance troop and a martial arts team. Various items will be available for auction or raffle. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund research and future events.
Admission is free to the event, but individual activities will require purchasing tickets. The carnival will be held on Sunday, March 1, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., at University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Alumni Plaza, located outside of the Student Services and Classroom Building, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston, TX, 77058.
