UH-Clear Lake announces 2009-2010 cultural arts lineup
Music, dance and comedy highlight the performances scheduled for University of Houston-Clear Lake’s 2009-2010 Cultural Arts Series.
“We have a lot of great performances this year and there is truly something for everyone!” said Andrew Reitberger, assistant director of student life. “I've always felt like we are the ‘neighborhood’ performing arts presenter as we bring in some great performers to the Clear Lake area and make it really accessible to the community.
“Our prices are very reasonable, our theater is intimate and without visual obstructions, and parking is free and plentiful.”
Scheduled programs include the following exciting acts:
* Thursday, Oct. 8, 8 p.m.: Mercury Baroque Ensemble returns to UH-Clear Lake to perform Handel’s “Royal Fireworks.”
* Friday, Nov. 6, 7:30 p.m.: Ventriloquist, puppeteer and comedian Michael Harrison entertains the audience with his family-friendly show.
* Friday, Feb. 12, 8 p.m.: Solero Flamenco, led by Irma “La Paloma” and Jeremias Garcia “El Valiente,” perform both song and dance during a special presentation of “Amor Flamenco.”
