During University of Houston-Clear Lake’s 14th Annual Student Conference for Research & Creative Arts, graduate student Kim Roberts and Assistant Professor of Psychology and Roberts’ faculty adviser Beth Hentges stand in front of the panels highlighting Roberts’ research work titled “Gender Representation as a Function of Television Station’s Target Audience.” Attendees were able to learn about research of their peers from approximately 179 registered presentations.

Approximately 250 university students from throughout Texas and beyond participated in University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Student Conference for Research & Creative Arts in April. During the conference, students chose from workshops about such topics as media literacy and writing an effective curriculum vitae as well as presentations by other student researchers. Attendees also received evaluations on their work from 48 faculty evaluators. Pictured are researchers from University of Southern Mississippi near their display including Lisa Richardson, a doctoral student in higher education administration; Emily Richmond, a doctoral student in educational administration; and Lydia Frass, a doctoral student in adult education. Their research was titled “Teaching Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime with Universal Design.” During the two-and-a-half day conference, 34 special commendations were awarded for outstanding presentations.
