Laura Ruemmele watches as raisins “dance” in a bottle of club soda during the Cool Science course at last year’s Kids U, an educational summer program offered each year by the University of Houston-Clear Lake’s School of Education. The club soda’s gas-filled bubbles orchestrate the dance moves, lifting the raisins as bubbles latch on, dropping them as the bubbles burst. Kids U offers a wide range of fun and educational courses for kids K-12, and runs June 9 through August 8, Monday-Thursday.
