1970s Cynthia Webster, ’79 BS, became a certified fraud investigator in February 2009. She lives in New York City, N.Y. 1980s John Q. Belt, ’80 MS, is president and managing member of QuinLab Consulting, LLC. He lives and works in Dallas, Texas. James Bevill, ’83 BS, will have his book released in fall 2009. “The Paper Republic” is an economic history of early Texas from the colonial period through annexation. Edwin Cooper Jr., ’80 MS, is president and CEO of AcuityHealthcare LP, a hospital company, based in Austin, Texas. Nishon Evans, ’84 BS, was appointed to the board of directors for the Virginia Society of CPAs. He currently is a compliance auditor with NJVC, LLC in Vienna, Va. Vincent Gabriel, ’88 BA, is a field technical analyst for Silicon Graphics Inc. Stephen Knapp, ’82 MBA, published his second book, “Don’t Ask Me How I Feel – I Have MS.” He is retired and lives in Boca Raton, Fla. Frank Palisi, ’89 BA, wrote “Sicily to New Orleans and Beyond,” which was published by Outskirts Press Inc. Heather Wooten, ’86 MA, wrote “The Polio Years in Texas,” which was published by Texas A&M University Press. 1990s Allen Hill, ’98 BBA, is the physical plant manager at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Doug Hiser, ’96 BA, is a tourism specialist with the Bay Area Houston Convention Bureau. He is an author of seven fiction books and a professional wildlife artist. Frances Ladd Woodall, ’93 BS, is vice president of finance for Reliant Business Products Inc., Houston, Texas. Jim McCure, ’96 MBA, is director of marketing at ChemCal, an industrial water treatment chemical manufacturer headquartered in Grapevine, Texas. Siba Moukayed, ’94 BBA, is a director for Playwell International, Sharjah, UAE. Rissie Louise Owens, ’94 MA, was reappointed as presiding officer and chair to the Board of Pardons and Paroles by Gov. Rick Perry. She has served on the board since 1997 and as chair since 2003. Becky Reitz, ’90 BBA, is president of the Communities in Schools-Bay Area board of directors. The organization is on 15 campuses in Clear Creek ISD and Dickinson ISD. Jay J. Tanet, ’97 MA, has accepted the position of assistant dean for administration and finance at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. 2000s Robert Harris, ’09 MA, is a therapist at Family Service Center of Galveston County, Galveston, Texas. Jennifer Lanier, ’09 MA, is a behavior analyst at Village Learning and Achievement Center, Houston, Texas. Amanda Matthys, ’03 BBA, resides in Columbia, S.C., and is working on her master’s in counseling at University of South Carolina. Mary Ann Matthys, ’07 MA, teaches art appreciation at Alvin Community College. Candice G. Mahoney, ’09 MHA, is the community development coordinator for St. Tammany Parish Government in Mandeville, La. Michael McCormick, ’04 BA, teaches geography and coaches basketball at Clear Creek High School. Barbara Michalowski, ’01 BBA, works for The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center as a grant program manager. Susan Cross Montes, ’02 BBA, and Luis Montes Jr. ’02 BA, welcomed a baby girl, Maitlyn Liana, on April 2. Debra Navarro, ’09 BS, teaches sixth-grade science and is the team leader for sixth-grade faculty at Imagine Nau Charter School in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Margaret Oberholtzer, ’08 BS, works for Bastion Technologies as a budget analyst for NASA. Konstantinos Pappas, ’02 BBA, is the plant manager for L & D Upholstery Inc. Patricia Robinson, ’07 MA, works for Friendswood ISD as a licensed specialist in school psychology. Katherine Rodriguez, ’01 BS, is the executive vice president and chief financial officer for Moody National Bank. Amber Willemsen, ’04 MS, is assistant principal of Goforth Elementary in Clear Creek ISD. In Memory Dennis Delafield, ’95 MS, passed away June 2009. Patricia Jenkins, ’89 Secondary Teaching Certificate, ’85 MS, passed away July 19, 2009. Mark B. Myers, ’94 BS, passed away January 2009. Sandra Petrovich, ’95 MA, passed away in August 2009.
