Piper Awards

Each year the UHCL Piper Award Committee, composed of an equal number of students and faculty, selects one professor to be honored for excellence in teaching.  This professor will then represent the university in competition for the Minnie Stevens Piper Award, which recognizes college and university instructors across the state of Texas.

Both students and faculty are encouraged to submit nominations for this honor.  Blank forms and boxes for the completed forms are located at the main entrance of all UHCL buildings.  Nominations are due in October of each year.

If you would like to honor an outstanding professor or colleague, fill out a nomination form either at one of the UHCL main entrances or online (Piper Nomination Form), sign it and drop it in one of the boxes.  You can also drop it off at the Office of the Provost, B2525 (Box 74), or at the Office of the AVP of Student Services, Box 349.
