The continued mission of Risk Management and Environmental Health and Safety is reflected in its mission statement:

The primary purpose of Risk Management and Environmental Health and Safety is to support the University of Houston – Clear Lake in its mission of teaching, research and community service. Our role is to identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective action to responsible departments to ensure the safety of the UHCL campus community, and eliminate unnecessary risks. We also act as a liaison with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance. In this capacity, we provide internal expert solutions to issues that assure governing requirements are met.

Application Forms

Food & Special Events Temporary Permit & Guidelines
This is needed whenever food is distributed (for sale or for free) on campus. It applies to any group or individual on campus, and authorizes flames for cooking/food heating purposes.

Hot Work Permit Application
The Hot Work Permit is for cutting, grinding, and welding activities. Any other use of flames should be authorized by the Temporary Food & Special Events Permit.

Environmental

Environmental Protection is what we do by complying with applicable rules and regulations to minimize and properly manage wastes; put controls in place to prevent spills, stormwater contamination, and air emissions. Click below to access the Environmental page for more info.
