Computer Information Systems Bachelor of Science - Admission

To apply to the Bachelor of Science program in CIS complete the UHCL application. Include the specific major code 153.


Direct any general questions about the CIS program to Dr. Hisham Al-Mubaid, the program chairperson.

Contact Barbara Coleman (281-283-3713), the academic advisor for SCE in Room 3611 of the Bayou Building (281-283-3715), or Ms. Diana Freeman, secretary of SCE (281-283-3700) regarding the status of your application.

To speed up your application processing, be sure you give all necessary documents to the University admission office.

Notes:

An admission committee comprised of CIS faculty members reviews all admission applications using many criteria. Although we consider each applicant on an individual basis, the following three criteria are critical:

  1. Preparation in computer science courses, especially credits and grades earned in C Pascal, Visual Basic and/or Ada
  2. Preparation in mathematics, especially Calculus I or Business Calculus
  3. Your GPA
