The Systems Engineering graduate degree from the School of Science and Computer Engineering requires 36 hours, 30 hours of graduate level and no more than six hours of upper-level undergraduate credit. A maximum of six hours of independent study may be applied to the master's degree. A maximum of six hours of grades within the range of "C+," "C" or "C-" may be counted toward the graduate degree. The candidate may choose a thesis option or a capstone option. The thesis option is 6 hours of thesis and a 3-hour elective. The capstone option is 3-hours of capstone and 9 hours of electives. The committee recommends that candidates take CENG 5131 Engineering Applications as a preparation elective.
