Engineering Management

Approved in June 2007 by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB)

The Engineering Management Program (EMGT) fits your demanding schedule. The program gives you the opportunity to earn an advanced degree in two years while you work full-time. The EMGT curriculum offers you an enhanced perspective on issues that affect the management of modern technology. The material gives you the tools you need to better manage your project, processes, personnel, products and services in real-world situations. From organizational behavior, management of organizations, and optimal decision making, to engineering economics, the coursework focuses on essential topics. Students with engineering and scientific backgrounds will find that this Master's degree suits their needs more closely than the traditional MBA.

The Engineering Management (EMGT) curriculum consists of 30 hours of coursework, including 24 hours of core courses. The six hours of electives may either be a three-hour course elective with the capstone project or six hours of Thesis. The following course of study illustrates the cross-disciplinary nature of the program.
